Companies and industrial symbiosis: levers, opportunities and realities, QEC 2023

Industrial symbiosis is one of the pillars of the circular economy, and aims to set up associations between companies within a defined territory. Whether it involves substituting flows (waste-resources, water, energy, co-products, etc.) or pooling resources, spaces and services, the possibilities are endless! Amélie Gosset of CAP Innove and Olivier Pierrot of In BW are industrial symbiosis facilitators for Walloon Brabant. Their mission is to raise companies' awareness of the concept of industrial symbiosis by highlighting the different possibilities, illustrating them with concrete, quantified examples, and highlighting the economic benefits for companies, as well as the environmental and social advantages. Inspiring testimonials from companies will also illustrate the levers and opportunities from a company's point of view for taking action. Today's world is changing. Industrial symbiosis is one of the ways in which we can increase our corporate resilience by forging new links with nearby companies, on both a human and a business level.
