About
Choose to Reuse (C2R) is an Interreg Meuse-Rhine project tackling a major challenge: the construction sector is one of Europe’s largest energy consumers and waste producers. In the Meuse-Rhine cross-border region (Belgium, Germany, Netherlands), cooperation for material reuse is hindered by regulatory differences and lack of coordination.
C2R focuses on:
Creating a digital marketplace for buying and selling reused construction materials.
Implementing pilot projects for inventory, selective demolition, and material reuse.
Providing training and support vouchers for SMEs to adopt circular practices.
Monitoring regulations and sharing best practices to harmonize cross-border approaches.
The project aims to reduce waste, limit raw material use, and support EU climate goals. Partners include Legros Démolition, Concular GmbH, University of Liège, and research institutes from Germany and the Netherlands.
