CCRI: Putting people at the centre of the circular transition

The transition to a circular economy is not only about materials, resources and technological innovation. To succeed, circular policies and projects must also deliver benefits for people and communities.

As part of its Community of Practice on the social impacts of the circular transition, the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) is organising an online workshop entitled“Putting people at the centre of the circular transition: Practical approaches for cities and regions.” Delivered by Circular Flanders, the session will explore practical ways for local and regional authorities to connect circularity with social objectives.

Through real-life examples and peer exchange, participants will learn how existing initiatives, local networks and community engagement can support the development of circular projects that generate tangible social value.

The workshop is particularly relevant for public authorities and professionals working on circular economy, sustainability and citizen-focused initiatives who wish to strengthen the human dimension of the circular transition in their territory.
