Event details

Participants will learn from three inspiring European examples showcasing different dimensions of this transformation:

  • Bert de Busser, IOK Waste Management (Geel, Belgium):

From waste collection to system integration through PAYT schemes, bio-waste valorisation and multi-stream circular resource management.

  • Jeppe Vestergaard, Renosyd (Skanderborg, Denmark):

Creating local circular economy hubs that promote repair, reuse, social inclusion and community engagement.

  • Miia Jylhä, Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto (Turku, Finland):

Using innovative education and capacity-building approaches to drive measurable citizen behaviour change and improve circular outcomes.

The workshop combines short expert inputs with interactive discussions, enabling participants to exchange experiences, reflect on their own local contexts and identify practical opportunities for strengthening the role of municipal waste companies in the circular transition.
