Event details

Bio-based chemistry, as part of green chemistry practices, involves partially or fully replacing fossil resources with materials derived from biomass. This approach aims to reduce dependence on fossil resources for the production of certain products while also minimizing environmental impact. By promoting the use of local resources and relocating certain links in the value chain, bio-based chemistry offers more sustainable alternatives and allows the sector to invest in a more resilient and transparent future.

About the Event: During this morning session, you will have the opportunity to attend a series of presentations and expert talks that will outline the current state of their sectors, share the challenges faced, and identify development opportunities for a more local and resilient bio-based chemistry in Wallonia. The event will cover theoretical and practical aspects, as well as financial levers. The goal is to encourage networking among sector stakeholders, foster the emergence of innovative bio-based chemistry projects, and address barriers to their implementation. The morning will conclude with an informal networking session over lunch.
