2025 Wool Collection Campaign

From June to September 2025, Valbiom, in partnership with Woolconcept, is organizing a new wool collection campaign at six sites in Wallonia. The goal is to add value to the 2024-2025 wool season for different uses, depending on quality:

• Medium-grade wool (colored, dirty, coarse): used in insulation and horticultural felt

• White wool: for mattresses and filling

• High-quality white wool: for duvets

Collection Guidelines

• Only wool from the 2024-2025 season (shearing June 2024 – June 2025) is accepted.

• Shearing performed on dry sheep in a clean area (no manure/straw). No hoof remnants in the fleeces.

• Wool stored in dry conditions, in burlap sacks (curons).

Wool that will be rejected:

• Soiled parts or those with plant matter

• Fleeces or fleece parts that are felted

• Very short wool (lambs, second shearing of the year, etc.)

• Wool from sheep with scabies

• Botrange (late June 2025)

• Viroinval (late June 2025)

• Houffalize (September 2025)

• Etalle (September 2025)

• Mons (September 2025)
