About
The "Multi-skilled deconstruction worker programme" is a training initiative funded by Le Forem and aimed at job seekers interested in entering the growing field of building deconstruction, construction waste sorting and material recovery. It prepares participants for employment within demolition companies implementing waste valorisation practices, sorting and recycling operators, and organisations active in the circular economy for construction materials.
The training combines technical and practical learning modules covering deconstruction techniques, on-site safety, sorting and recovery of materials and waste generated during deconstruction activities, as well as an introduction to circular economy principles. It also includes a practical internship, employment support and psychosocial guidance to facilitate participants' integration into the labour market.
By developing skills related to material recovery and the productive use of resources from existing buildings, the programme contributes to the transition towards more circular practices within the construction sector in Wallonia.
