Call for projects – Recovery and valorisation of used textiles in Wallonia

Support & counseling

Call for projects supported by the Walloon Government and implemented by W.ALTER to develop new industrial capacities for the recovery of used textiles in Wallonia. The initiative supports strategic projects in advanced sorting, material preparation and industrial transformation to strengthen circularity and local value creation.

About

The “Recovery of Used Textiles in Wallonia” call for projects aims to accelerate the development of a Walloon value chain for collected textile waste. In response to increasing volumes of used textiles and the weakening of traditional outlets, the programme supports the emergence of industrial capacities capable of converting these materials into new resources, materials or products.

With a total budget of €4 million, the call targets mature projects with a strong structuring impact on the sector. Eligible investments include advanced textile sorting, industrial preparation of material flows such as fibre separation, secondary material standardisation and recycling processes, as well as the industrial transformation of textiles into marketable materials or products. Particular attention is given to projects that create local outlets and strengthen the value chain in Wallonia.

The programme is intended for social economy enterprises established in Wallonia, acting alone or in partnership with other economic actors. Its objective is to foster a more resilient circular economy by supporting activities that generate added value, employment and sustainable industrial development within the region.
