With the growing demand for hydrogen, this project tackles two key challenges: metal weakening due to high-pressure H2 diffusion and the harmful use of hexavalent chromium against corrosion. It develops an innovative coating that prevents this diffusion, extends equipment lifespan, and provides a non-toxic, solvent-free alternative.

About
The hydrogen market is experiencing sustained growth, yet its industrial adoption faces two major challenges. First, high-pressure hydrogen tends to diffuse into metallic structures, causing gradual degradation and reducing their durability. The coating developed by the company acts as a protective barrier, limiting this diffusion and helping to extend equipment lifespan. Second, the most widely used solution for preventing high-temperature corrosion relies on hexavalent chromium, a compound known for its toxicity and environmental impact. The company offers an effective alternative that is free of chromium, contains no organic solvents, and is devoid of proven toxicity. This approach not only protects materials but also reduces exposure to hazardous substances and minimizes the generation of harmful waste, thereby promoting safer and more sustainable industrial practices.
