About
RobinWood was created to valorize black locust (robinia), a naturally rot-resistant wood that grows in Wallonia but was previously underused. Following a circular economy approach, RobinWood has established the first local supply chain for this species, working with regional sawmills. The project recovers trees that would otherwise be chipped or incinerated and transforms them into high-quality timber for outdoor applications such as decking, cladding, and landscaping. This initiative reduces reliance on imports, supports short supply chains, and lowers carbon emissions. RobinWood also maximizes sustainability by upcycling production waste into accessories, aiming for zero waste. The project strengthens local competitiveness and promotes responsible resource management.
