Reprocover 5.0

Project

Reprocover 5.0 in Verviers builds the first industrial line to recycle 10,000 t of thermoset waste into lightweight, durable infrastructure products. Goal: replace concrete, cut emissions, and scale a circular production network across Europe.

About

The Reprocover5.0 project, led by Reprocover in Verviers, is a world-first industrial-scale initiative for recycling thermoset composites. It aims to establish a circular industrial line combining advanced processes (grinding, screening, extrusion-mixing, melting, and press molding) to transform waste into infrastructure products such as cable gutters, access chambers, and level crossings.
With a target of 10,000 tonnes of waste recycled, Reprocover5.0 seeks to replace concrete with recycled materials, cutting carbon emissions and reducing reliance on virgin resources. The resulting products are lighter, stronger, fire-resistant, and sustainable, driving a low-carbon circular economy.
Labelled as a Solar Impulse Efficient Solution and supported by the EU Innovation Fund, the project aims for rapid replication across Europe to build a localized circular production network, boosting infrastructure sustainability and competitiveness.
