Hempturn
Through the Hempturn project, IsoHemp aims to market a new range of products by minimizing the use of resources, replacing lime with an eco-responsible limestone filler. Additionally, the project focuses on upcycling waste from the autoclaved aerated concrete industry into our products. This will be made possible by rethinking the production chain.

About
IsoHemp is among the leaders in decarbonized construction, offering a range of bio-based insulating blocks with a negative carbon footprint. To reinforce its leading position, the company aims to increase investments further, providing even greener solutions to the market.
In this context, IsoHemp is currently implementing the HempTurn project, developed as part of the GoCircular call for proposals. The project aims to introduce a new line of bio-based blocks with improved carbon performance.
The project addresses several key environmental challenges identified by IsoHemp:
Approximately 80% of the carbon footprint of the insulating blocks is linked to lime-based binders.
Cellular concrete waste is currently neither recycled nor reintegrated into the economic cycle.
More eco-friendly alternative materials, such as limestone fillers with equivalent properties, remain largely underexploited.
To reinforce its environmentally responsible image, IsoHemp aims to significantly reduce the environmental impact associated with lime usage. The HempTurn project will substitute lime with more sustainable alternatives, such as limestone filler. After successful trials, the next step is industrial-scale implementation.
This strategic shift is expected to generate substantial socio-economic impacts, including:
Lower production costs;
Enhanced eco-friendly product image among customers;
Preservation and creation of local employment opportunities.
