About
The CYPRESS (Circular Production for Electrical Vehicles) project is part of the Interreg Meuse-Rhine program and aims to strengthen the region’s competitiveness in sustainable electric mobility. Its goal is to establish a highly circular and resource-efficient supply chain for the automotive industry, reducing the ecological footprint and fostering cross-border collaboration.
Key actions include:
Three pilot projects: a refurbished battery module, a hydrogen tank made from recycled carbon fiber, and a low-carbon gearbox housing.
Implementation of a physical pilot line through private investments and grant schemes.
Skills development: assessment studies, technological toolkits, and training programs for technicians, engineers, and managers to prepare a workforce for circular automotive production.
The project engages over 150 companies and regional stakeholders to innovate in circular materials, processes, and business models, positioning the Meuse-Rhine region as an international hub for sustainable automotive manufacturing.
