About
Born out of the Aerospace Training Center, established in 1987, the WAN was created in 1999 through the joint efforts of industrialists and political leaders in Wallonia to establish a high-performance training organization. Its primary mission is to network all the resources within the aerospace industry.
To achieve its mission, the WAN relies on various partners, including several competency centers, aviation schools, airlines (Brussels Airlines, TUI, Thomas Cook, etc.), the Defense (Air Component), and key players in the Walloon aerospace industry, grouped within EWA (Walloon Aerospace Companies, SONACA, SABCA, SAFRAN AERO BOOSTER, etc.) and members of SKYWIN (Aerospace and Space Competitiveness Cluster). Evidence of the industry's interest is reflected in the fact that the current President of Sonaca, Pierre Sonveaux, also chairs the WAN’s Board of Directors. The WAN also maintains close collaboration with the Haute-École Condorcet in Charleroi and the University of Liège.
