About
The teaching activities cover several disciplines, including organic and analytical chemistry, reactor design and unit operations, modeling and optimization of chemical and biochemical processes, control of environmental technologies for reducing pollutants and effluents, introduction to industrial biotechnology, and industrial risk management.
In each of the chemical and biochemical processes developed within the service, there is a focus on reducing its environmental footprint through the reduction of pollutants (both aqueous and atmospheric) and energy consumption, as well as controlling risks.
Experimentation, modeling, and simulation are the common pillars across the various research topics. From laboratory scale to pilot scale, the studied processes are based on understanding phenomena, followed by their modeling, optimization, and even process intensification. These multi-scale approaches are central to our work, offering the opportunity to link academic studies with industrial applications.
