About
Neurogreen is a Belgian start-up born out of a clear awareness of the urgent environmental challenge of mismanaged waste. Only 5% of the 1000 billion packaging waste generated globally is properly sorted and recycled. In response to this alarming reality, Carlos Kiala took action by partnering with Numédiart, the artificial intelligence research center at the Polytechnic of Mons. After two years of research and development, Neurogreen launched its first revolutionary product in 2018: an intelligent, electric, and connected waste sorting bin.
This innovative bin is equipped with sensors and smart algorithms that allow it to recognize and sort waste according to its type, facilitating recycling. It also provides reports on the carbon equivalents avoided, thus giving organizations, hospitals, and public spaces an efficient way to educate their employees and visitors on the importance of waste sorting while showcasing their ecological commitment. The product is now commercially available and aims to transform how organizations approach waste management.
In addition to the sorting bin, Neurogreen continues to innovate and explore new areas of application for its technologies. For example, the company is looking at adapting its solutions to collective catering and reusable packaging to further promote the circular economy.
The Neurogreen team consists of passionate and committed experts dedicated to raising awareness, optimizing waste sorting, and promoting eco-responsible practices. Thanks to a multidisciplinary approach and unwavering determination, Neurogreen positions itself as a key player in developing innovative, sustainable solutions for intelligent waste sorting, contributing to a cleaner and more environmentally-friendly future.
