Event details
In 2019, the Walloon Government introduced the possibility for companies to obtain recognition for the status of by-products and to exit waste status for certain materials. Five years later, it’s an opportunity to review these new concepts introduced into Walloon waste law. What advantages do they offer and who has taken the step? What does the regulation foresee in this area? How and why, or for whom, should a material, substance, or object be recognized as not being or no longer being a waste? Is this the most appropriate means to achieve goals of circularity, decarbonization, and industrial innovation? What potential barriers still need to be addressed? And what is happening beyond our borders? These are some of the questions that will be at the heart of the conference and discussions organized by the administration directly in charge of these topics, the Soil and Waste Department of SPW-ARNE.
