Companies innovate and make choices on a regular basis. Today, these choices are increasingly motivated by sustainability: new packaging, consolidation of production sites, replacement of raw materials; management of co-products, opportunities to optimize processes... Companies must also be accountable for their impact to stakeholders, and particularly to consumers.
LCA is the tool that makes these choices factual and rational. This method accounts for the impact of each stage in the process, from the extraction of raw materials, from the field to the plate, including all waste, by-products and materials sent to landfill. Intuition is out of the question for multi-criteria realities such as environmental impact. Similarly, the information shared must be quantitative and the result of a standardized method to enable comparison, but also to assess the impact of decisions and progress towards objective results.
