IKEA’s sustainability strategy addresses the challenges of the world around us. IKEA was founded with a simple yet powerful vision: to improve the lives of the many people. Their ambition is to reduce absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the value chain (from raw material reception to product creation and transportation) by at least 50% by 2030 (compared to 2016) and to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, without using carbon offsets to achieve this absolute reduction goal. They also aim to decouple their growth from resource use and strive to become a fair and regenerative business.

IKEA highlights circularity with their “Second Life” spaces. By the end of 2023, IKEA has set up “Second Life” spaces in 373 stores. These spaces are an example of circular practices and provide inspiration on ways to extend the lifespan of IKEA products. Discover the space at the IKEA in Arlon!

Additionally, the online “Second Life” option continues to expand, now available in 278 stores across 24 countries.
