In 2018, the EU published a report on plant proteins, stimulating various regional strategies. The agronomic benefits are recognized, but challenges remain. Join us on June 21 to explore the reality on the ground at our day dedicated to plant protein.
The morning will be devoted to seminars presenting the results of the Walopea project:
- CRAW will be presenting the 3 new rapid analysis methods developed as part of this project (for faster detection of soybean, ochratoxin and total protein content). These new methods will enable industry players to optimize the value of yellow peas, and avoid certain downgrades.
- Cepicop will present its work on technical itineraries (results of field trials) and cost prices, and officially launch the new pea and faba bean brochures, as well as the seed multiplication guide.
- Wagralim will be presenting the first results of material sorting, as well as a comparative study of the state of play and innovation in 5 European countries across the entire plant protein chain, in order to capture best practices and draw inspiration from them.
Other speakers throughout the morning will include players in the Walloon protein chain (sorters, processors), as well as researchers, including Celabor, who will present the Protewin IIS and the Walprot project, and Hogent University with the PeaPact project, which focuses on the development of local, sustainable yellow pea chains.
The afternoon will be devoted to visits to CEPICOP field trials.
