The dismantling of a glass canopy for reuse as a pavilion in a communal development project.

Project

This involves upgrading an existing glass roof of approximately 740m² covering an office building that is to be demolished into a pavilion on a site owned by the local municipal administration, enabling its use for various events regardless of weather conditions. The project involves dismantling, adapting, and reinstalling the glass roof at the designated location.

    About

The office building at Galère's headquarters no longer meets current space requirements, comfort standards, or energy efficiency norms. A complete overhaul is planned, including the removal of the interior area—a covered internal garden within the four buildings—protected from the elements by a glass roof.

This glass roof, despite the passage of time, remains a unique feature with its functions intact. In a commitment to circular economy principles, the client sought a new purpose for it and found interest within the municipal administration of Chaudfontaine. The administration site in Embourg is to provide shelter for local events such as citizen meetings, weddings, festivities, and various other activities like concerts, shows, and readings offered by the library service.
