About
ISS Waste2Bio, supported by Valbiom, is launching a call for participation in the creation of a working group bringing together farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, and consultancy firms.
Two meetings are planned: one in 2025 and another in 2026. The goal is to design and test innovative solutions addressing three major challenges:
Revitalization of abandoned industrial and agricultural sites;
Preservation of agricultural soil;
Management of pollution: heavy metals, PFAS, pesticides, and excess nitrogen.
Join us in rethinking Wallonia’s wastelands—together.
Your expertise and perspective matter! Whether you're a farmer, part of an agricultural cooperative, a landholder, a consultancy firm, an innovative company, or a researcher, you have a role to play in this collaborative dynamic.
Interested in participating? Fill out the form before July 20, 2025.
Why join the group?
Synergy of skills
The project brings together farmers, entrepreneurs, experts, and project leaders to co-create concrete solutions by combining hands-on experience with scientific expertise.
Territorial and environmental impact
Waste2Bio aims to rehabilitate underused local wastelands while protecting the health of agricultural soils, which are vital for food production and environmental sustainability.
Practical and participatory approach
The first meeting in 2025 will identify pilot sites, establish a shared diagnosis, and define key indicators. The second meeting in 2026 will assess initial results, refine solutions, and launch broader pilot initiatives.
What’s in it for you?
You’ll gain access to: thematic workshops, site diagnostics and phytomanagement strategies, on-site trials (species selection, ecological and economic monitoring), and a complete feedback report in 2026.
