Support & counseling

LIFE is a European programme that targets actions and initiatives in the fields of circular economy, adaptation to climate change, energy transition, preservation and protection of biodiversity, water and soil, improvement of air quality and waste management.

About

The LIFE Programme is the European Union’s flagship initiative dedicated to environmental protection and combating climate change. Since its inception in 1992, LIFE has financed innovative projects that aim to strengthen Europe’s ecological resilience and address current climate challenges. Aligned with the European Green Deal, this initiative contributes to the EU’s ambitious goals, including achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, restoring biodiversity, and transitioning towards a circular economy.

The LIFE Programme is divided into two main areas: Environment and Climate.

1. Environment includes:
-Nature and Biodiversity: This segment supports actions to preserve ecosystems and endangered species in Europe, from reforestation efforts to the protection of natural habitats.
-Circular Economy and Quality of Life: It encourages sustainable resource management, waste reduction, and pollution mitigation through projects that innovate in recycling, plastic reduction, or circular economy practices.

2. Climate includes:
- Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation :This sub-program funds initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening community resilience to climate impacts.
- Transition to Clean Energy: By supporting the expansion of renewable energy and energy efficiency, this section accelerates the transformation of Europe’s energy sector towards sustainable practices.

With a budget of €5.4 billion for 2021-2027, the LIFE Programme is a critical driver for promoting green innovations. In addition to funding, LIFE provides selected projects with technical support and increased visibility, encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly solutions across Europe. This approach fosters cooperation between public and private stakeholders, promoting the exchange of best practices to bring tangible solutions to environmental and climate challenges.

More than just a funding mechanism, the LIFE Programme embodies Europe’s ecological transition, playing a crucial role in mobilizing action for sustainability and the fight against climate change.
