About

The Tri-Terre project, driven by Groupe Terre and Bring Back, opened Belgium’s first facility for washing reusable food packaging in Herstal. This pioneering initiative replaces energy-intensive recycling with reuse, washing jars and bottles at 80°C instead of melting glass at 1,500°C. With a capacity of 10 million containers per year, the center aims to cut up to 5,000 tons of waste and 3,600 tons of CO₂ annually. It also creates local jobs for people far from the labor market, reinforcing its social impact. Fully aligned with Wallonia’s circular economy goals, the project offers producers a sustainable and cost-effective solution for packaging reuse.
