Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) in the field of circular advanced materials for clean technologies

Support & counseling

A consultation by Belgian authorities for a future IPCEI focusing on circular advanced materials for green transition (energy, mobility, electronics). The aim is to boost R&D, innovation, and manufacturing in Europe to reduce dependence on non-European raw materials.

About

This potential IPCEI aims to support innovation in the field of circular advanced materials to meet the EU’s needs for a green transition, particularly in energy, mobility, and electronics.

Main goals:

  • Promote circularity and recyclability throughout the value chain (sourcing, eco-design, manufacturing, recycling, use phase).

  • Reduce dependency on non-European raw materials by setting up R&D&I and first industrial deployment projects.

  • Foster transnational cooperation and knowledge spillovers to enhance Europe’s industrial competitiveness.

Key requirements:

  • Significant innovations beyond the current state of the art.

  • Demonstration of market failures that justify IPCEI support.

  • A commitment to broad dissemination of results within the EU.
