Horizon Europe call on maintenance and repair measures for existing buildings

Support & counseling

This Horizon Europe call for projects supports the development of innovative solutions for sustainable maintenance and repair of existing buildings. It aims to extend their lifespan, reduce their environmental impact, and promote predictive approaches to building management and maintenance.

About

The Horizon Europe programme’s call for projects "Advancing sustainable maintenance and repair measures for existing buildings" aims to promote innovative approaches that extend the lifespan of existing buildings while reducing their environmental impact.

Supported projects must develop decision-support tools based on life cycle assessment (LCA) to improve predictive maintenance of buildings, as well as circular and affordable maintenance and repair solutions to extend their service life.

Proposed solutions must be demonstrated on three buildings located in three different EU Member States or associated countries, including at least one heritage building and one social or affordable housing project. Projects are also encouraged to examine the potential for replicating the developed solutions, identify barriers to their deployment, and propose ways to overcome them.

The call encourages the involvement of a wide range of actors and disciplines to foster an integrated approach to renovation, maintenance, and sustainability of the European building stock. Expected results should reach a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) between 6 and 8 by the end of the project.
