Development of an acoustic insulation product made from Belgian sheep wool.
The project aims to develop circular wool-based acoustic insulation products, with a study of trends in acoustic panels made from natural materials. Prototypes scheduled for October 2023 will be used to refine the circular solution, followed by a return-on-investment study using business expertise.

About
The design expertise conducted a study on the development opportunities for wool-based products in the interior design and construction sectors. The findings confirmed that developing an acoustic insulation product is a relevant avenue.
This study was complemented by an analysis of trends in visible acoustic panels made from natural materials, carried out by the business expertise team.
Additionally, the design expertise explored:
Techniques for wool stiffening
Customization possibilities (coloring techniques, color chart development)
Next Steps:
✅ October 26, 2023: Prototyping tests will be conducted to allow the business expertise team to gather feedback from potential clients on the proposed circular solution and refine it accordingly.
✅ A simplified ROI (Return on Investment) study for the first few years will be carried out by the business expertise team.
