A new web platform by CEBEDEAU (with VITO) enabling companies to analyze water flows, assess water scarcity risks, and measure their impact. It provides a detailed water balance, performance indicators, and optimization solutions, including alternative water sources, to reduce overall resource pressure.

The Water Barometer is an online tool designed for companies to map and quantify their water usage, thereby enhancing water management practices. Developed under the Circular Wallonia strategy, it offers:
A questionnaire that helps highlight current practices and identify critical areas (leaks, specific consumption, etc.).
A flow mapping feature tracking water inputs, usage, and discharges, indicating quality needs for each process (cooling, cleaning, production ingredients, etc.).
Impact and vulnerability indicators, including an “impact score” that calculates the surface equivalent required to collect enough water to offset company-wide consumption.
A scenario comparison tool to simulate various approaches: use of alternative sources (rainwater, effluents), establishing recycling loops, or adapting processes.
A thermal analysis module assessing heat content in water flows for energy recovery.
Cartographic layers pinpointing nearby alternative water sources (roof areas, municipal wastewater treatment effluents, etc.).
With these functionalities, the Water Barometer helps companies minimize water-resource pressure, reduce costs, and lower their vulnerability to water scarcity risks.
