Six projects selected to advance the circular economy in the construction sector

As part of the 3rd edition of the “Circular construction sites, services and products” call for projects, a total budget of 328,000 euros has been allocated to support concrete initiatives aimed at further integrating circular economy principles into the construction sector.

Among the applications received, six projects were selected for their innovative nature, potential for replication, and contribution to reducing the environmental footprint of construction sites. They benefit from personalized support to help bring their project to life, as well as a grant.

GO.ST. ARCHITECTURE – The Well-Being House of Tomorrow Creation of a place of rejuvenation for people with cancer, built in wood, with a green roof, photovoltaic panels, and rainwater harvesting. This project promotes biodiversity and is fully modular. Grant awarded: €60,000 – Category: Construction site

ABV ENVIRONMENT – Terra Project This project promotes the circular economy in construction and earthworks through three levers:

  • Reusing excavated soil and backfill on construction sites

  • Reducing soil transport by reusing soil on-site

  • Improving the agronomic quality of on-site soil to reduce the need for imported topsoil A high-impact, carbon-positive initiative!

RETRIVAL – Circular Glass Service In response to the challenges of glass recycling, “Circular Glass Service” offers on-site sorting and dismantling to ensure optimal quality of glass for reuse. Grant awarded: €58,800 – Category: Service

RobinWood – ReTreeve RobinWood will develop the “ReTreeve,” a multi-species solid wood panel made from trees felled for maintenance or safety reasons (along roadsides, railways, etc.). A great way to repurpose resources that are usually shredded and burned, transforming them into construction and furniture-grade timber (doors, stairs, furniture, etc.). Grant awarded: €60,000 – Category: Launch

TAKE OUT – Lenoo - Certification This project aims to certify the LENOO product, a bio-based wood fiber insulation. The certification includes CE marking, opening access to the Belgian and European markets, as well as the qualification of LENOO’s environmental characteristics, including indoor air quality and its bio-based nature. Grant awarded: €60,000 – Category: Launch

ANTHROPIE – Reversible, Dismountable and Scalable Housing The goal of the project is to launch a complementary range of reversible housing to the current Hellow offering (mobile and movable), with a dismountable and scalable design, suitable for a wider audience (including families) and a broader range of urban planning contexts. The product combines reversibility, dismountability, scalability, no soil sealing, and bio-based materials. Grant awarded: €60,000 – Category: Launch
