Based in Marcinelle, the SCRAP project offers decorative objects created from scraps of metal, plexiglass and wood. The range includes lamps, stools, clocks and coat racks, all designed with a circular perspective. SCRAP also offers maintenance, buy-back and remanufacturing services, making each piece of furniture as long-lasting as possible.

The SCRAP project is an innovative initiative in the field of decorative objects. Under the SCRAP brand, the team is committed to creating aesthetically pleasing furniture while contributing to the circular economy.
The SCRAP brand includes a variety of objects, from lamps and stools to clocks and coat racks. Each piece is designed from scraps of metal, plexiglass and wood.
The SCRAP lamp, for example, incorporates metal tube production offcuts from their own site or from partners, offering a solution made almost entirely from waste. The stools and coat racks are made entirely from wood production waste, while the clocks combine wood scraps with Plexiglas needles recovered from their own production process. MetalGroup already markets objects made from various types of wood, including tables and shelves, as well as boxes, protective covers and Plexiglas decorative elements. The use of these scraps not only reduces the loss of raw materials, but also makes the most of previously neglected resources. This approach is part of a drive to improve the efficiency of production processes, where every element, even those considered to be waste, is reintegrated into a new productive life cycle.
SCRAP also offers an after-sales service: a free two-year maintenance contract enabling customers to extend the life of their furniture. In addition, SCRAP offers a buy-back contract for decorative items, with a fixed price based on the length of ownership. With such a free maintenance contract, SCRAP wants to enable its customers to extend the life of their furniture, which is a fundamental pillar of the circular economy. Indeed, by maintaining and repairing products, the company wishes to encourage the reuse and conservation of resources, thereby reducing the need to purchase new items and minimising the environmental impact associated with the production of new goods.
What's more, the packaging is designed responsibly, using FSC-certified (sustainably managed forests) cardboard and inner cardboard from old cardboard boxes on the site itself to cushion the items in the parcels, thanks to a cardboard padding machine. This device transforms the cardboard boxes into cushioning material to protect the objects during packing.
