Joachim Froment, from Futurewave, explores the concept of ecodesign, introducing a global and circular perspective into the field of design to promote sustainability.
Ecodesign aims to improve human-ecosystem interaction over the long term, by integrating sustainability right from the design stage. It balances material, function and usage scenarios, reducing parts and costs to optimize product life cycles. One example is a luminaire made from PET recycled via 3D printing, designed to be aesthetically adaptable over decades, underlining the importance of reuse and recycling.
