QEC 2023 building materials collection launched

Take part in a press conference to present the Matériau'Box, a recycling container for building materials in good condition, installed in a recyparc. Find out more about this pilot collection project, run in partnership with Ressourcerie Le Carré, which will put the materials back into circulation via its matériauthèque. Intercommunal company Ipalle, which operates 26 recyparcs in Picardy Wallonia and South Hainaut, has found that many of the materials deposited on these sites are still usable: wood, insulation, window frames, bricks, etc. With the aim of preventing waste, a Matériau'Box was installed at the Tournai 3 recyparc in April 2023. The installation of this container for the recovery of building materials follows on from discussions with Ressourcerie Le Carré, which recently opened a matériauthèque in Tournai. Le Carré's teams can now collect materials deposited by private individuals and put them back on sale at attractive prices. If the results are positive, other Matériau'boxes could be set up in Ipalle's recycling parks.
