Event details
Through this one-day collective workshop, you'll discover how the textiles that make up our clothing and home furnishings are made, and how to distinguish the origin of the different materials they're made from, so you can consume with full knowledge of the facts and limit your environmental footprint on the planet. We'll also take a look at the various local alternatives that exist for fairer, more eco-responsible consumption, and what remains to be done to relocalize. At the end of the course, participants will be equipped to consume textiles in an informed and fairer way, in order to reduce their environmental footprint and the pressure exerted on resources, natural environments and minorities. Participants will also be able to understand the origin of the materials they consume, read a label, understand a certification and verify its veracity, as well as understand the environmental, social and economic stakes of the textile sector through the relocation of new and recycled raw materials. They will also gain a better understanding of the work involved in making a garment, its cost and the value of a garment in every sense of the word. The aim is to raise awareness of the need to consume locally, less and better, and to question the relationship between citizens and the costs of local production.
