Why Participate?
This seminar will provide an opportunity to identify the needs of stakeholders in the WOOD value chain in Wallonia: knowledge, tools, technologies, expertise, and more. Based on three themes, it also aims to generate development ideas and explore funding options.
The seminar is primarily intended for partners of IIS VALBOWAL, professionals, and stakeholders in the WOOD sector in Wallonia interested in issues related to wood industrialization, forest regeneration, planting techniques, soil compaction techniques, as well as life cycle analysis and environmental declarations. It is also open to government officials, academics, scientists, and students interested in these topics.
📅 A Preview of the Program
In the morning, a plenary session with three experts in life cycle analysis, forest regeneration, and wood industrialization in construction will introduce the day's topics and outline the issues in each theme. This will be followed by three roundtable discussions that, through collective intelligence, will facilitate the emergence of ideas for future research projects or various activities. After lunch, questions of funding and training will be addressed with the support of Wallonie Entreprendre, NCP, Invest Sud, and Forem Wallonie Bois.

The day will culminate with a visit to the "TERRAFIBRA Architectures" exhibition, where you can admire prototypes (at 1:1 scale) created by various Walloon producers: Gramitherm, Atelier de l’Avenir, Scidus, Mobic, BC Materials, IsoHemp, Paille-Tech, and Stabilame.
