Event details

This mechanism will aim to achieve the following objectives:

  • Ensure the effective establishment of the governance bodies of the IIS and facilitate the mobilization of IIS partners;

  • Support the mobilization dynamics of stakeholders and their involvement in activities related to the implementation of the IIS;

  • Structure and energize the international ambition of the S3 and the IIS by providing them with specific resources to, on the one hand, develop the presence and visibility of the IIS in international forums, and on the other hand, participate in the drafting of European projects, in coordination with specialized regional tools (particularly the Walloon NCP).

In line with the principles of the S3, this mechanism is based on the following guidelines:

  • Unique and limited-time support : The aim is to stimulate the new dynamics initiated through the S3 with the help of the Walloon Recovery Plan. The initial funding should eventually enable the IIS to self-organize for the continuation of their action plans.

  • Flexible and innovative support : Each IIS will be able to choose which types of activities it wishes to develop with this funding, in accordance with its needs and action plan, within the framework set by the Region, and in complementarity with other resources mobilized by the IIS.

  • Ambitious but selective support : The funding granted by the Region will allow IIS managers to develop activities for the benefit of the entire IIS. The funding obtained should be focused on IIS management activities and cannot be distributed among different stakeholders or diluted into generic activities of the organization receiving the grant.

  • Support linked to transparency and collaboration requirements : The funding should allow for the active involvement of the IIS in the regional collaboration dynamics and dialogue with the Region, including through reporting on actions taken.
