Treatment of excavated soil in situ
The project aims to enrich subsoil directly on construction sites through an innovative process and a dedicated machine. This approach aligns with circular economy principles by transforming waste into a resource on-site, thereby reducing transportation needs and minimizing environmental impact.

About
The project focuses on enriching subsoil directly on construction sites intended for landscaping, parks, gardens, and green areas. Currently, many projects require excavation and removal of soil (due to pollution, construction, civil engineering works, roadworks…), which is then transported to receiving sites or authorized sorting centers and often used as backfill in low-value areas.
This project offers a sustainable alternative by upgrading these soils in situ. Since excavated soil is generally poor in agronomic quality, it needs to be supplemented with organic amendments. Project partners include organic waste producers (biomethanization plants, wastewater treatment facilities), a Walloon equipment manufacturer, and local laboratories.
