About
La Marbrerie de Soignies is developing a Proof of Concept (PoC) as part of circular economy and future industry initiatives in Wallonia. The project aims to evaluate the efficiency of processing dimension stones, a noble and traditional material used in construction, sourced from end-of-life buildings. The process involves deconstructing these buildings to recover the stones, reprocess them, and reintegrate them into new constructions or renovations.
The evaluation of this efficiency encompasses several technical aspects, such as the quality of the reprocessed stones, their suitability for reuse in modern projects, and the savings in terms of cost and materials. The project aims to promote a circular economy by minimizing waste of natural resources and reducing the environmental impact associated with construction. The PoC will test reprocessing methods on a small scale before considering a broader integration in the construction sector.
