About

The Medical Waste Decontamination and Recovery Project aims to develop and provide innovative solutions for the safe treatment of Infectious Healthcare Waste (DASRI) in order to minimize contamination risks and reduce environmental impact.

The process typically includes advanced waste disinfection using technologies like microwave treatment or sterilization, followed by the recovery of waste as energy or reusable materials. For example, after treatment, the waste can be used to generate electricity or supply urban heating networks. These solutions are designed to meet strict regulatory standards while optimizing costs and ensuring an eco-friendly resource management. Rigorous traceability systems are implemented to track every stage of the waste disposal process, guaranteeing safety and efficiency.

This project is part of a broader circular economy approach, aiming to reduce medical waste and maximize its reuse in a sustainable framework.
