About
Composil ReUse initiates the first carpet tile reuse and recycling program in Wallonia to promote a sustainable transition in construction. Producing 1m² of carpet requires 5kg of refined oil, and without opportunities for valorization, these tiles are typically sent to incineration. To address this, Composil ReUse collects, reconditions, and stores used tiles through a social enterprise for adapted work. Reusable tiles are then reintroduced into the market, while non-reusable ones are upcycled by a carpet manufacturer. This process significantly reduces CO2 emissions and petroleum consumption by maximizing the product’s life cycle through reuse and recycling. This solution aligns perfectly with Composil's sustainability philosophy, embodied in their well-known slogan: We Care.
