About

Wood Sector Innovation Project Call

Are you a professional in the wood sector facing a market gap or seeking to enhance your production competitiveness? GreenWin invites you to participate in our BOIS project call. We’re looking for innovative solutions across various areas, including:

- Products or Processes: Wood construction or deconstruction systems, biosourced material certification processes, high-value molecule extraction, by-product valorization, wood treatment methods, and sector digitalization.

**Project Objectives**

R&D projects should aim to develop innovative products, processes, or services ready for market launch. Examples include:

- Product: Prefabricated wood systems for adaptable building designs and easy deconstruction, lignin-based additives for construction materials like concrete or composites.
-Process: Economical extraction of high-value lignin or other products from wood, treatment processes using plant-based preservatives or microorganisms.
-Service: Digital tracking of wood resources for reuse in the sector, detection services for imperfections in wood construction.

Eligibility Criteria

- Projects must be collaborative, involving at least 2 research entities (universities, higher education institutions, approved research centers, or public research organizations) and 2 Walloon companies, including at least one SME.
- GreenWin can assist with consortium formation and partner identification.
- Funding rates vary between 40% and 100%, depending on the type of research and participating structure. At least 65% of the project budget should be allocated to companies.

Application Process

1. Submit a Letter of Intent: Send a 2-3 page letter to GreenWin by October 4, 2024, to receive initial feedback and project advice.
2. Submit Preliminary Project: Provide your draft project by November 25, 2024, for review.
3. Final Submission: Submit the finalized project to SPW by mid-December 2024.

Successful projects will be presented in March 2025, with a start date anticipated for summer 2025.
