About
The massive and structural deployment of eco-materials in construction/renovation requires overcoming several current obstacles. Public policymakers aiming to reduce environmental damage lack a complete inventory of available actors and solutions. Additionally, communication between public prescribers and eco-construction entrepreneurs is often limited. For entrepreneurs, certifying natural materials is costly and complex in Belgium and France, and they often lack opportunities to present their innovations to the academic world.
To address these challenges, the project operates on three levels:
1. Specifying the technical characteristics of eco-materials: Build-value aims to raise awareness in the conventional construction sector about the added value of using natural materials and associated construction systems.
2. Prioritizing the choice of eco-materials: Through training and guidance, the project promotes collaboration between entrepreneurs, academia, and public authorities.
3. Changing habits: By supporting and engaging target audiences, Build-value establishes a strategy to make eco-materials the norm in construction methods.
18 partners from Belgium and France are cooperating on the Build-value project, which spans the period 2024–2028.
The Interreg VI FWVL "Build-value" project has a total budget of €3,735,669.85 and is funded 60% by the ERDF.
