BelgOléo

BelgOléo is a collaborative project aiming to relocalize and structure a Belgian oilseed flax sector based on regenerative agriculture. Led by industrial, agricultural, and academic partners, it addresses three key challenges: public health, environmental sustainability, and food sovereignty. The project fully utilizes flax seeds to develop innovative products such as oils, health breads, and omega-3 enriched eggs. By integrating sustainable farming practices and advanced processing technologies, BelgOléo helps reduce carbon footprint, improve soil fertility, and support local farmers through fair remuneration. This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote food system transition and regional economic development.
