Be-Drain - Draining (lean) concrete for durable road surfaces
As part of the Be-Drain pre-normative project, the partners are working together to develop technical guidelines, performance characteristics and suitable test methods for these pervious concrete mixes. This research is based on both laboratory tests and validation measurements carried out on test beds and/or on site.

About
In the current context of climatic disruption, generating exceptional events such as the major floods that hit Belgium last summer, the integral management of rainwater is a concern that continues to grow in importance. On the strength of its years of expertise in the field of pervious pavements, CRR has now embarked on new research into the application of porous concrete as a sub-base or road surface.
As part of the Be-Drain pre-normative project (running from 1/11/2020 to 1/11/2022), partners CRR and CRIC- with support from SPF Economie and NBN - are working together to develop technical guidelines, performance characteristics and suitable test methods for these pervious concrete mixes. This research is based on both laboratory tests and validation measurements carried out on test beds and/or on site.
